Random thought - Poem - I am an American by Elias Lieberman

Just read a Poem in Favorite Poems Old and New. The book is a collection of poetry selected for boys and girls by Helen Ferris and Illustrated by Leonard Weisgard.   A Poem caught my attention entitled: "I Am an American" by Elias Lieberman.   Here are a few quotes from the poem: "Every drop of blood in me holds a heritage of patriotism, I am proud of my past. I am an American."  "The flag of stars and stripes is yours; it is the emblem of the promised land. It means, my son, the hope of humanity. Live for it---die for it!" "Under the open sky of my new country I swore to do so; and every drop of blood in me will keep that vow. I am proud of my future. I am an American."  If you would like to read it, you can find it on suzyred.com ( https://suzyred.com/american.html ).  Please note: I am not in any way affiliated with the above link; it's just where I found the poem posted on the web.  Always click with awareness.

pondering - ELECTIONS - Odd Truth

Odd Truth : The US Presidency is not the most Important Election. The Most Important Elections are related to those who actually have the greatest power - those in Congress. We could have a dumb president and the country would mostly get along just fine. But the moment we have a  Dumb Congress , no  Smart President  can fully save the day. Trump definitely exposed the width, breadth, depth and  putridity  of the  SWAMP . Unfortunately, America voted for the majority of them. America  needs  to vote better and really work and push to have a fair, open, honest and free election. Don't ever think that a Representative or Senator is a small election with little consequence. Every elected official contributes to how our country leans, works with or wars against others. We need to elect people who will understand, they are not there to be served by us, but they are there to serve and represent  US(A) .

Pondering Being a Good Human and Striving to be Good at Being Human - From A Long Line

Being a Good Human and Striving to Be Good at Being Human From a long line You and I come from a long line of humans. You and I date back several millennia. We unlike the first humans have a long history. Our births are dependent upon 1000's of generations before us. This for us is fact. It is one thing we can know for certain.  We (specifically those who can read this now) didn't just appear. This history and recognition of those who came before is important. Another fact, those who came before us experienced suffering, joy, love, loss, and many other experiences. Human history is full of horrors and joys, curses and blessings, atrocities and benignancy. Your and my ancestors are in many ways the same. We all bleed red when pricked. We all are of the same race. Skin color, height, width, voice timbre, male, female make no difference when it comes to race. We are all of the same race. We all are human. Anyone who tells you or me that there is more than one race is lying. Not on...

Pondering #FBExodus - To Facebook or Not to Facebook, That Is the Question.

Since the election, in early November 2020, I have been pondering completely leaving Facebook. Many of my friends, acquaintances of my past and present, possibly noticed that I had not posted much of anything on Facebook for nearly 5 years up until November. And they most likely also noticed that these posts were increasingly political and often anti-bigtech.  In one way, I love technology. Something amazes me that a camera can capture an image, and then allow it to be represented over and over again.  It amazes that as I push these buttons that nearly instantly the letters appear upon the screen for me to see and ponder, not just in my head but also on the page.   I was a fairly early adopter of the cell-phone.  In early 2000's, my wife an I moved to Kansas City. In stead of getting a landline, we opted for cell-phones. Allowing a strange sense of safety, knowing that Kansas City at the time had fairly good coverage, and if my wife were to be in some kind of tr...
