Response to Friday the 13th’s Thanksgiving post

Keeping it real. The first post of this blog is meant to be satire on journalism and spark thought. It's funny how media sources that are supposed to be objectively sharing the news of what happened, have become story crafters pushing their narrative while minimizing everyone else's voice. Now it's not just media doing it, it's large social media conglomerates entering the picture and misguiding their users through increasingly subjective censorship.

Using the first item ‘Number 13’ as an example (refer to previous post).  Yes, the one that starts with good ol' Bill Gates. Yes that part is conspiracy theory despite circumstantial evidence. Yes, he is the founder of Microsoft a big tech company that has lots to lose in the new Trade Deal. And Yes he has connections to a virology lab in Wuhan. But we have no proof that the virus was released from that lab or that Bill Gates had any involvement in such a release.  My hope is that he is a well-meaning citizen of the United States trying to protect and heal the world not hurt it.  The Fact however, is that the the virus began in China and resulted in a global pandemic.

What is interesting is that media sources do this mixing of fact and fiction every day. I think instead of police reform, we as a culture and society should be talking about journalism reform. It's interesting, most articles today should be placed in the opinion section, so that everyone will know that it's full of conjecture, twisted tidbits of truth, contrived stories to compel it's readers (targets, according to the Associated Press) to accept its perspective as truth.

It's also funny that today's opinion section probably shares more truth and honest conversation than the rest of the news all together.

Pondering Common Core

*Image by Amerigus  Shocking:  America continues to except ‘common’ as the word that describes its educational system. America was founded on exceptional thought and consideration. America is uncommon in it’s choice of government and bill of rights to it’s citizens that in many ways expands around the globe. From the people who spread the ideals of freedom prior to 1776, to those who fought to secure America’s Independence, and those who fought for a more perfect union, the essence of America is far from common.   Yet, our educational system continues it’s aim to reduce everyone to commonness.   Furthering my research and delving into the common core web site for more information and understanding, I am appalled to read the following:   The composite standards [of Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore] have a number of features that can inform an international benchmarking process for the development of K–6 mathematics standards in the U.S. First, the composite standar...

pondering - ELECTIONS - Odd Truth

Odd Truth : The US Presidency is not the most Important Election. The Most Important Elections are related to those who actually have the greatest power - those in Congress. We could have a dumb president and the country would mostly get along just fine. But the moment we have a  Dumb Congress , no  Smart President  can fully save the day. Trump definitely exposed the width, breadth, depth and  putridity  of the  SWAMP . Unfortunately, America voted for the majority of them. America  needs  to vote better and really work and push to have a fair, open, honest and free election. Don't ever think that a Representative or Senator is a small election with little consequence. Every elected official contributes to how our country leans, works with or wars against others. We need to elect people who will understand, they are not there to be served by us, but they are there to serve and represent  US(A) .

pondering the DEATH PENALTY

Of late, I have seen many Facebook posts pushing a statement for the end of the death penalty. In a perfect world, where no one ever commits a heinous deadly crime, I would say, ‘Yes, we don’t need a death penalty.’ However, in our world, where crime and hate run rampant, I believe there should be a death penalty heinous deadly crimes.   One of the posts that I find most appalling is this one:   “The death penalty is not about whether people deserve to die for the crimes they commit. The real question of capital punishment in this country is, Do we deserve to kill?”   ― Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption This particular quote has a very low view of humanity and suggests that we the people who have not committed a heinous deadly crime should lower our heads in shame and ask ourselves, “do we deserve to kill?”   This is extremely bad logic and a poor way to look at and respond to heinous deadly crimes.   We have law because people encro...
